INTRODUCTION.
​As the Mind Sports Director, Mr. Yorkson Cheung develops and promotes mind sports programs, organizes events, and works to increase their participation and engagement.​
​
York is a passionate player and educator of intellectual games in Hong Kong. Over the past several years, he has represented Hong Kong in the International Mind Sports Olympiad (MSO) and various intellectual competitions, achieving remarkable accomplishments on the international stage. His perseverance and passion have led him to defeat top players from Europe, America, and Australia.

As an accomplished Go player holding an amateur 5-dan rank, York is well-known for both his playing skill and his role as an instructor, teaching Go and board games to students of all ages. He has represented Hong Kong in numerous prestigious tournaments, including:

York’s recent successes at the Mind Sports Olympiad are especially notable. He was the overall champion in the Abstract Games Medal Table in both 2023 (4 gold, 1 silver) and 2024 (6 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), earning the prestigious Abstract Games GrandMaster title in 2024. His achievements and contributions have been widely recognized by the media, with features in TVB’s “Sports World,” East Week, RTHK’s “Vibrant Hong Kong,” Junior Chamber International Hong Kong’s “Quick Arrow,” and Renews.

Due to York's exceptional performance in Mind Sports, he has been appointed as the Team Leader for the Mensa Hong Kong Team at the London 2025 MSO.
